Message : You always hear people saying that the suspension on Z's is set up for the track and not the drag-strip. But how do Z's compare to their only competition the Supra on say a road track? <<<<<

The Supra has MUCH better brakes out of the factory than the ZTT. My 93' ZTT had MAJOR brake fade problems on a road course as any serious ZTT driver who road races will tell you. A $2000 upgrade will be needed to MATCH the supra's braking. For $700 more you can kill'em on brake with the 6-pot racing caliper thou.

The Supra is actually VERY stable at speed and is arguably more stable in corners than the stock ZTT becuase of its significantly longer wheelbase and better rolling stock. In many of tests the car magazines did on the ZTT the drivers complained about the Z having a poor balance...the Z's push going into corners and come out with too much wheelspin exiting...non-neutral handling. This is possible caused by the undersized rolling stock for its heft...it's also exaggerated by the HICAS 4-wheel steering system which was basically designed to aid "regular" drivers "feel" more connected at about 7/10ths driving on the road. But this system actually works to the Z's detriment at 10/10ths on a racetrack...thats why Stillen offers the HICAS-eliminator mod.

The point, obviously a car manufactured three years after the 300ZXTTs' debut is going to be developed to out do all the Z's "stock-state" shortcomings so the hardcore ZTT owner who takes his all out roadracing seriously has to address these before he can even be on a level playing field with a stock supra TT on a demanding road course. With all these weak links address I would agree thou that the ZTT would feel better than a stock or even slightly modded supra on a road course.
